Responsible Digital Twin Research Theme in Chennai, India

A team of researchers from the Responsible Digital Twin theme as part of the Responsible AI Group at the School of Computer Science, University of Hull, travelled to Chennai, India, for a research visit from October 14 to October 19. This initiative was supported by the global engagement programs of the University of Hull and IIT-Madras.


What was the research visit all about?

The visit was to foster knowledge exchange and partnership between the Indian Institute of Technology (ITT) Madras and the University of Hull, focusing on Digital Twin and Wind Energy technologies. The goal was to highlight the fantastic research ongoing at both the University of Hull and IIT Madras, bring together researchers from PhD to Professor, and foster potential future collaborations.

Topics of Interest

●        Digital Twin Technologies including:

○        Intelligent systems

○        Machine Learning/Physics-Based/Hybrid predictive systems

○        Simulation-based applications

●        Wind Energy Technologies including:

○        Operations and Maintenance

○        Sensor development and application

○        AI/ML development and applications

●        Other topics that may complement the above

Conclusion

The visit gave us a chance to highlight, discuss, and explore research at the cutting edge of Wind Energy, Digital Twins, Engineering, and AI/ML. Furthermore, the event provided a platform to engage with research and researchers from different areas across the University of Hull and IIT Madras.
