On 2 September 2026, our research group had special guests, Shell Richard, Dr Richard Hale, and Charlotte Richard from VALUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT LTD, to discuss decision-making supported by AI and share our MSc and PhD student research works.

During the first main session, we experienced the 'Strategic Orbits Exercise'. This is a product of VALUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT LTD and was designed to empower you to see the unseen, speak the unspoken, and optimise planning, organisational structure, team performance, strategy, and impact from their long journey of knowledge. This strategy was digitalised by utilising AI. We learnt about the application of AI in the real world and the benefits and new objectives it presents. We also had some in-depth and fruitful discussions from a responsible AI perspective, which is our leading research domain. We look forward to future collaboration with them!

The second session began with exciting announcements! Professor Dhaval Thakker and Dr. Koorosh Aflansefat delivered wonderful news about securing two Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, funded by Innovate UK and our industrial partners, successfully. Then, Dr. Temitayo Matthew Fagbola presented highlights from his recent research. Finally, our students, including Mostafa Anoosha, Kuniko Paxton, Sara (Zeinab) Dehghani, and Mohadseh (Gazelle) Mollapour have showcased their novel studies and received insightful feedback!
